Every set from The Caddy's Edge is handcrafted from premium Maple, Birch, or Poplar and sealed with an exterior-grade protective finish. Because these are genuine hardwood tools, a small amount of intentional care ensures they remain a centerpiece of your bag for years to come.
Exterior-Grade Protective Seal
Every stick leaves our Toronto workshop coated in a premium exterior-grade topcoat — the same class of finish used to protect fine woodwork against the elements. It is UV-resistant, moisture-repellent, and requires no oiling or re-coating under normal use.
Post-Practice Wipe Down
After a session on the range or a round in the dew, use a soft, dry towel to wipe away any moisture, dirt, or grass clippings. Even with our premium exterior seal, keeping the wood dry is the single best habit for maintaining its integrity over time.
Climate Control
Wood is a natural material that reacts to its environment. To prevent warping, avoid leaving your sticks in extreme conditions for prolonged periods — a sweltering car trunk in July or a freezing garage in January. When not in use, store them in a climate-controlled environment alongside the rest of your gear.
Cleaning the Details
If your custom laser-engraved logo or alignment markers collect debris from the range, clean them gently with a slightly damp cloth. Avoid abrasive brushes, steel wool, or harsh chemical cleaners that could mar the surface or lift the finish around engraved details.
Embrace the Patina
Like a well-loved forged wedge, minor dings and surface scratches are a natural part of a tool that is being used at a high level. These marks of use should be embraced — they are proof of the work you're putting in on the range. The character that develops in a well-used set of handcrafted sticks is something no factory-produced alternative can ever replicate.
Do
- Wipe down with a soft dry cloth after use
- Store indoors in a climate-controlled space
- Clean engraving with a damp cloth when needed
- Let minor surface marks develop naturally
Don't
- Apply oil, wax, or wood conditioner
- Leave in a hot car trunk or frozen garage
- Use abrasive cleaners or steel wool
- Soak or submerge in water
"A tool cared for is a tool that performs. Every session on the range is an investment — protect it."
